Life Circle Center for Healthy Aging - Adult Day Service has leased the Hopewell Community Center from the Santa Fe Civic Housing Authority on 1800A Espinacitas Street, Santa Fe, NM 87505. We opened our service in December of 2021.

An adult day center provides a safe, supportive environment for older adults who need assistance with independent living, including stimulating social activities. Such a service allows families to care for adults at home, while wage earners continue working during the day. When the former adult day care service, Open Hands, closed in 2012, Santa Fe lost this essential service. Life Circle provides the only service of this kind in Santa Fe.

The world's population is aging at a faster rate than ever before and people are living longer. Every day until 2030, 10,000 Baby Boomers a day will turn 65 and 7 out of 10 people will require long term care in their lifetime. Adult Day Service provides cost effective solution that allows elders to age-in-place avoiding expensive institutional alternatives while at the same time giving respite to caregivers by providing a home away from home to care and attend to those in need.

Caring for individuals with disabilities can be incredibly stressful and can result in problematic outcomes, including poor emotional and physical health. Adult day services are one care option that can support the needs of individuals with functional limitations as well as their caregivers. Adult day services support the health, nutritional, social, and daily living needs of adults in professionally staffed, group settings. Adult day services also benefit family caregivers by enabling them to remain in the workforce as well as providing them with direct services.

As an alternative or supplement to home care and an alternative to moving to assisted living or a nursing home to receive care, ADS centers enable continued community-based living for individuals with physical and cognitive limitations and provide respite for their caregivers.
